WORLD RUN, Inc. ANNOUNCES WORLDWIDE 5K TO PROMOTE HEALTH EQUITY
World Run, Inc. has announced its World Health Run, an international 5K event to be held on April 7, 2018, to improve health equity across the globe.
World Health Run will take place on the first Saturday on or after World Health Day. The single-day 5K aligns partners from the health services field with active participants, to benefit equity-focused projects and advocacy efforts. These projects will improve access to health services and strengthen sustainable health systems around the world. At World Health Run events, individuals and communities will be engaged and educated about health equity.
Andrew Dykens, Director of the World Health Run Executive Board, is seeking Major Collaborative Partners to support the inaugural event, and become part of the World Health Run Board. Initial partners include the Consortium of Universities for Global Health, National Peace Corps Association, Rotary One, HEWRAG, Partnering for Peace, and Peace Cares.
There is also a call for Local Event Hosts and Sponsors. Chapters of national organizations, or independent non-profits who are interested in hosting a World Health Run in their town are encouraged to apply online. Companies wanting to sponsor World Health Run should also apply online.
